Each piece is hand-printed on an analog printing press with oil-based inks on archival paper. The circle layer is printed first with a “rainbow roll” using a monotype plate. The linocut Castro Theatre sign is then printed as an overlay to the circle, in this case with the base being a dark teal-to-blue ombre “rainbow roll” with a gold overlay. The process creates a beautiful embossment of both the figure, and the circle.
